Waterjet Technology

The advantages of the Waterjet process extend beyond its cost competitiveness with other cutting techniques. Waterjet allows for the fabrication of many materials where there are no effective alternative methods. Waterjet also offers advantages for cutting complex shapes and intricate designs, not otherwise economically
achievable.

ATC Waterjet Services offers the accuracy and reliability, and has quickly earned a reputation for the knowledge, experience and turnaround capabilities necessary to serve the exacting demands of its customers.

- Virtually burr-free cut edges without the heat generated structural changes
– Close nesting of shapes giving economical conversion of high value materials
– Multi head operation allowing competitive cutting of flat materials

LOW COST : We use your existing DXF files. No costly dies,  fixtures, or elaborate CNC programs required. In case you do not have a file, we provide SolidWorks Services, which will allow you to create the DXF files needed for your application.

NO MINIMUM: Low start-up costs allow for inexpensive, highly accurate production for quantities as small as one item.

FAST TURNAROUND: Working from your drawings eliminates the need to wait for dies or fixtures.

HIGH ACCURACY: Cuts are accurate within ± 0.125mm (0.005″).

SMOOTH FLAT CUTS: Water jet cuts are smooth, similar to a fine sandblasted finish. Flexible materials cut with less taper than cuts made through die cutting.

NO HEAT BUILD-UP: Materials like glass, rubber, and plastic will not melt during the cutting process. No melting, no heat affected areas, no structural changes.

CUTS JUST ABOUT ANYTHING: Waterjet machining is capable of cutting a large variety of materials.

LESS WASTE: “Parts nesting” provides optimum use of sheet materials, reducing scrap.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY: The Waterjet cutting process involves no chemicals, gases or noxious liquids. Abrasive Waterjet cutting uses  garnet (a high grade sand) as the abrasive. This creates a very clean process, preferable to other methods of cutting in terms of environmental impact, eliminating disposal of by-products and waste water.
